Such a special day at St. Mark’s  on Rose Sunday! After our service we had our annual parish Christmas party and the Sunday school put on one of their best Christmas plays ever! We also had the opportunity to extend our best wishes to Deacon Linda and Mark who became engaged Friday night! We then returned at 6pm to sing Christmas Carols. Thanks to John and Will who accompanied our communion praise music with guitars and also strummed through a myriad of Christmas Carols at 6pm. There were cookies and cocoa and it was a joyous evening. Thanks to the minister from the Presbyterian church and some from Trinity Melrose who joined us. So special to gather together to celebrate the coming birth of our Lord with voices raised in glorious songs of praise! Thanks also to Rebecca for many of the pictures.

Thanks to the Marksmen who provided the turkey and Clay who cooked it. The side dishes were evidence that St. Mark’s has some great chefs in our midst. PENTECOST SUNDAY, JUNE 9
On Pentecost (from the Greek for “fiftieth) we observe one of the great feasts of the church when we remember the coming of the Holy Spirit “like a rushing mighty wind” and like “cloven tongues of fire.” It was only after the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that the Apostles bodily set out to bear witness to Christ which the Church has continued to do ever since under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I encourage all who would like to, to wear something red June 9th as we celebrate The Day of Pentecost here at St. Mark’s.
